We leave tomorrow morning nice and early...and by "nice and early," I mean that I will be leaving my house at 3:30AM. Thank goodness my sister is a world traveler who is willing to drive me to where I need to be at that ungodly hour of the morning!
A quick note on how things will proceed moving forward: I (Laura) will be posting as we are able, pending electricity and internet access. I hope that some of our other trip members will be inspired to write and share as well, and will post any writing they share with me, crediting the author, of course!
And who are we? We are a group of travelers from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia and the First Unitarian Church of Baltimore. We are traveling from Maryland to Haiti for a week-long trip through the Unitarian Universalist College of Social Justice. Read more about our trip, about Haiti, and about the Papaye Peasant Movement through the tabs above!
Finally, here is a video from one of our co-leaders, Carla, on one of her prior trips to Haiti. (A familiar face to all of our UUCC readers!). We are so lucky to have Carla's guidance on this trip!
